Stand-in skipper Jaker Ali, leading Bangladesh in the absence of Litton Das, won the toss and opted to bowl first. Pakistan, put into bat, managed 135 for 8 in 20 overs. The innings was revived by Mohammad Haris, who top-scored with 31 from 23 balls, and Mohammad Nawaz, who struck 25 runs. Faheem Ashraf added an unbeaten 14 to push the total past 130.
Pakistan’s innings began shakily, with Sahibzada Farhan dismissed for 4 and Saim Ayub falling for a duck. Fakhar Zaman managed 13 before departing, while captain Salman Ali Agha’s stay ended at 19. Hussain Talat was removed cheaply for 3, leaving Pakistan reeling at 29 for 3. Shaheen Afridi briefly counter-attacked with 19 from 13 balls, but wickets continued to tumble.
Key contributions
Haris steadied the innings with clean strokes, including a six off Mustafizur Rahman, before being dismissed on 31. Nawaz added momentum with a six in his 25-run knock, while Faheem and Haris Rauf saw out the innings. For Bangladesh, Taskin Ahmed returned 3 for 28, while Rishad Hossain and Mehidy Hasan picked up two wickets each.
Chasing 136, Bangladesh faltered against Pakistan’s attack and were bundled out for 124 in 19.3 overs. Despite starts from several batters, no one anchored the innings, and Pakistan’s fielders held their chances under pressure.
The result confirmed Pakistan as the second finalist alongside India, setting up another high-stakes clash between the traditional rivals at the same venue.
